Hoy hemos podido visitar el Castillo de Bellver por dentro, con su defensa de doble foso, no muy común, que convertía este tipo de fortaleza en prácticamente inexpugnable a los asaltos. Hemos podido ver en su interior el museo con la historia de Palma de Mallorca, las estancias reales de los Reyes de Mallorca (no olvidemos que eran también Reyes de Aragón, Valencia y Nápoles al mismo tiempo), la torre del homenaje y un concurso de espadas medievales, con aspirantes a mejor guerrero a espada medieval en campeonatos internacionales. Decididamente la visita a Palma de Mallorca ha sido uno de los mejores hitos del viaje de esta vuelta a España.
Today we were able to visit the Castillo of
Bellver inside, with its double moat defense, not very common, which made this
kind of fortress virtually impregnable to the assaults. We were able to see
inside the museum with the history of Palma de Mallorca, the royal apartments
of the Kings of Mallorca (remember who were also Kings of Aragon, Valencia and
Napoli at the same time) and a contest of medieval swords, with aspiring
warrior best medieval sword in international championships. Definitely this
visit to Palma de Mallorca has been one of the best milestones of this journey
round to Spain.
