Cambrai es una de las subprefecturas del Departamento Norte, en la Región Norte-Paso de Calais que tiene su capital en Lille. Esta ciudad está en lo que es Flandes francés, que un día perteneció a los Duques de Borgoña y al Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico; posteriormente a la Monarquía Hispánica hasta mediados del siglo XVII y desde 1667 a Francia, cuando Luis XIV, el Rey Sol, incorpora esos territorios a Francia. Cambrai ha sido sede de la firma de importantes tratados en el pasado, y fue destruida durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. La primera batalla de tanques tuvo lugar aquí hacia Noviembre de 1917. Cambrai está clasificada como Villa de Arte e Historia.

Cambrai is a sub-prefecture of the Northern Department, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region that has its capital in Lille. This city is in French Flanders, who once belonged to the Dukes of Burgundy and the Holy Roman Empire; subsequent to the Hispanic Monarchy until the mid seventeenth century and since 1667 in France, when Louis XIV, the Sun King, incorporated these territories to his kingdom. Cambrai has hosted the signing of important treaties in the past, and was destroyed during World War I. The first tank battle took place here by November 1917. Cambrai is clasificated Villa of Art and History.

Lille es la capital del Flandes histórico obtenido por la Casa de Borgoña, después integrado en el Sacro Imperio, posteriormente en el Imperio Español y finalmente ocupado por Francia a partir de la segunda mitad del Siglo XVII. Es una de las más bella ciudades francesas, e históricamente ha sido plaza de importancia en todos los acontecimientos de esa zona. Su conurbación es la tercera de Francia por número de habitantes.

Lille is the capital of the historic Flanders, obtained by the House of Burgundy, then integrated into the Holy Roman Empire, later in the Spanish Empire and eventually occupied by France from the second half of the seventeenth century. It is one of the most beautiful French cities, and it has historically been important place in all events in that area. Its conurbation is the third in France by population.

Amiens, Saint Quentin y Arras pertenecen a la zona norte francesa, lo que una vez fue Flandes, y durante el siglo XVI una parte de las 17 provincias, que bajo el Ducado de Borgoña pasaron al Sacro Imperio y después a España. Estos territorios acabaron formando los actuales Países Bajos (Bélgica y Holanda) y el Flandes francés.

Amiens, Saint Quentin and Arras belong to the French northern area, which was once Flanders, and in the sixteenth century a part of the 17 provinces, that under the Duchy of Burgundy became the Holy Roman Empire and then part of the Hispanic Empire. These territories ended up forming the current Netherlands (Belgium and Netherlands) and the French Flanders.
