Amiens, Saint Quentin y Arras pertenecen a la zona norte francesa, lo que una vez fue Flandes, y durante el siglo XVI una parte de las 17 provincias, que bajo el Ducado de Borgoña pasaron al Sacro Imperio y después a España. Estos territorios acabaron formando los actuales Países Bajos (Bélgica y Holanda) y el Flandes francés.

Amiens, Saint Quentin and Arras belong to the French northern area, which was once Flanders, and in the sixteenth century a part of the 17 provinces, that under the Duchy of Burgundy became the Holy Roman Empire and then part of the Hispanic Empire. These territories ended up forming the current Netherlands (Belgium and Netherlands) and the French Flanders.

Burdeos es la capital de la región francesa de Aquitania, y su río Garona se ensancha a su paso por la ciudad hasta llegar al mar, por lo que Burdeos es el puerto más importante de esta parte de Francia. Es famosa mundialmente por sus vinos. Esta bella ciudad es llamada la Bella Durmiente. Con 240.000 habitantes en la ciudad y 1.115.000 habitantes en su conurbación, es la quinta ciudad más importante de Francia, tras París, Marsella, Lyon y Toulouse.

Bordeaux is the capital of the Aquitaine region of France, and the Garonne river widens as it passes through the city to the sea, so that Bordeaux is the largest port in this part of France. It is famous worldwide for its wines. This beautiful city is called Sleeping Beauty. With 240,000 inhabitants in the city and 1,115,000 inhabitants in its metropolitan area, it is the fifth largest city in France, after Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse
